Lu & Aug’s is an ice cream company that focuses exclusively on small batch premium soft serve and coffee.  We use fresh, locally-sourced dairy that’s 10% butterfat as the base of our ice cream to create both classics and not-so-classic flavors.

Started in 2023 by Pretha and Ash Kailath and their two kids, Laiyla (Lu) and Augustine (Aug), a love for creating incredible dessert pairings and memories has grown into an ice cream and late-night espresso shop with a bigger purpose: to build a business rooted in community and creativity.  

Weekend drives through Lancaster’s dairy farms, spontaneous family trips to uncover hidden ice cream and coffee shop gems, and countless hours of experimenting - we’ve tasted more ice cream than we’d like to admit, all in the pursuit of what we truly love.

Our passion shines through in every unique soft serve creation, some of which celebrate the vibrant flavors and traditions of our South Indian heritage. In addition to crafting many of our products from scratch, we also love to collab with small, locally-owned businesses and regularly host charity events to support causes important to our neighborhood and community. Giving back isn’t just part of Lu & Aug’s mission - it’s the heart of who we are, and a driving force behind everything we do.
